Ceramic Industrial Coatings receives safety and health award, recognized Oct. 5

Workplace safety and health representatives from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) will recognize Ceramic Industrial Coatings as a Minnesota Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (MNSHARP) worksite Oct. 5. The recognition event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at 325 County Road 81 Service Road, Osseo, MN.

"Ceramic Industrial Coatings has shown great leadership providing both time and resources needed to reach this MNSHARP goal," said Ken Peterson, DLI commissioner. "When safety is a top priority, as it is with Ceramic Industrial Coatings, overall costs go down and productivity goes up. Best of all, fewer people go home with serious injuries."

MNSHARP is a Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) program that recognizes organizations where managers and employees work together to develop safety and health programs that go beyond basic compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and result in immediate and long-term prevention of job-related injuries and illnesses.

"We are very honored and pleased to receive our MNSHARP award," said Rob Laubscher, Ceramic Industrial Coatings president. "Since 2013, our management and all of our employees have spent significant time and money improving our programs, procedures and equipment with great help and advice from MNOSHA Workplace Safety Consultation. It is rewarding to accomplish our certification goal and, most importantly, continue to improve the safety of our employees."

Ceramic Industrial Coatings is a leading supplier of industrial coatings to wood, metal and concrete markets. The primary focus is developing and manufacturing wood coatings for the millwork, cabinet and furniture industries, including solvent- and water-based coatings, stains and custom colors for a variety of markets and uses. The company was established in 1962.

DLI representatives will commemorate the company's employee-employer partnership by presenting a MNSHARP flag and a certificate that exempts the worksite from MNOSHA Compliance scheduled inspections for two years.

MNSHARP began in Minnesota in 1996. Ceramic Industrial Coatings is one of 34 active MNSHARP worksites. For more information, visit www.dli.mn.gov/Wsc/Mnsharp.asp.
