Manufacturing Week Roundtable will feature local manufacturers and their successful workforce programs

Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) Commissioner Nancy Leppink, the agency’s Dual-Training Pipeline Program, Apprenticeship Minnesota and area manufacturers will host a roundtable event from 9-10:30 a.m., Oct. 3, 2019, at Daikin Applied as part of Manufacturing Week to celebrate successful dual-training and registered apprenticeship programs in the Faribault, Minnesota, area. Daikin Applied is located at 300 24th St. N.W. in Faribault.

The event will bring together manufacturers and workforce program participants Daikin Applied, SageGlass, K&G Manufacturing and MRG Tool and Die, elected officials and DLI team members to discuss the manufacturers’ dual-training and registered apprenticeship programs, share successes and offer experiences to help address critical workforce challenges in manufacturing. Additionally, representatives from South Central College will share their experiences as education partners with the workforce initiatives.

2019 Manufacturing Week

Manufacturing Week – Oct. 1-7, 2019 – is celebrated to raise public awareness about the importance of manufacturing. Manufacturing added $52.7 billion to Minnesota’s economy in 2018, representing the second-largest contribution to the state’s gross domestic product by any industry.
