Associated Builders and Contractors of Minnesota and North Dakota
Overview
Applications for apprenticeship programs are accepted on a rolling basis through participating employers. Applicants join the apprenticeship program after they are hired by a participating employer.
The list of signatory contractors can be found at MNABC’s apprentice resource web page. ABC has employer partners in North Dakota, and some listed contractors may be located outside of Minnesota.
The length of the application process will vary by employer. There are no application fees or aptitude tests required to join the program.

Overview
All application information is available at the Minneapolis Electrical JATC’s website. Application deadlines are on a quarterly basis (see website for deadlines). Applications include a GAN Aptitude Test and there is a $40 dollar fee per application.
Training center tours are the first and third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. Register online. More information about the tours are in the events section of Minneapolis Electrical JATC’s website.

South Central Minnesota Electrical JATC

Overview
Applications are accepted year-round.
Applicants must complete an application and aptitude test in order to be interviewed and placed on SCMN Electrical JATC’s eligibility list. Individuals on the eligibility list will be referred to work with contractors to begin employment.
SCMN Electrical JATC will only take on new apprentices after all current apprentices have been referred to contractors. The hiring season typically falls between April and August. The number of new apprentices hired varies from year to year, and is based on industry needs.
The length of the application process can vary between two months to a year and is dependent on the hiring season.
Minimum qualifications:

applicants must be 18 years old or older,
-
have a valid driver's license,and
-
have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
SCMN Electrical JATC will accept applications prior to an applicant being 18 years old or graduating high school, but they cannot be hired by a contractor until they've met the hiring criteria.
There is a $40 application fee.
SCMN Electrical JATC hosts monthly informational meetings and tours of their Rochester facility the second Tuesday of every month.

St. Paul Electrical JATC

Overview
Applications are accepted year-round.
The application process can take a full year to complete, from the initial application submission to placement in the program. St. Paul Electrical JATC does not have deadlines for application completion, and applications stay open for one year before they expire. There is a $45 application fee.
Applicants are scheduled for the next available aptitude test after their application is completed. Aptitude tests are held on an “as needed” basis but tend to be scheduled quarterly.
Tours and tours of the training center are available upon request.
