We license electrical contractors, electricians, satellite system installers, sign contractors and register unlicensed individuals.

2023 National Electrical Code

The Board of Electricity has adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC) with an effective date of July 1, 2023. Therefore:

• Electrical permits filed before July 1, 2023, must comply with the 2020 NEC. 

• Electrical permits filed on or after July 1, 2023, must comply with the 2023 NEC.

Electrical licensing exams will transition to the 2023 NEC beginning July 17, 2023.
