View eligible and ineligible expenses for the Supportive Services for Registered Apprentices Fund (SSRAF): 

Eligible on-off expenses

• Childcare:  deposit/first month (provider must be licensed)

• Transportation:  car repair, motorcycle repair, e-bike, bike, gas money, public transit

• Smaller medical costs that might not be covered by insurance:  eye exam/eyeglasses, etc.

• Union dues (inaugural only)

• Toolsets

• Clothes/uniforms

• Work boots

• Groceries/personal items

• Safety equipment

• Assistance obtaining a driver’s license or other government-issued identification

• Test, license, application and certification fees

• Basic skills preparation

• Books and training materials

• Counseling

Eligible ongoing expenses

• Transportation assistance (bus, gas cards, cab or ride share)

• Childcare (provider must be licensed)

Eligible case-by-case or emergency expenses

• Rent

• Emergency services deemed necessary (it will require additional documentation/justification)

Ineligible expenses

• Wages

• Child support
