Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1315, Minnesota Electrical Code
The Minnesota Board of Electricity is proposing rule amendments to Minnesota Rules, part 1315.0200, subpart 1(a) “Electrical Code.” The Board is proposing rule amendments that incorporate by reference and adopt the 2026 National Electrical Code (a/k/a “NFPA 70”), with any Minnesota amendments.

The Board did not receive 25 requests for hearing, by the end of the comment period on June 3, 2026. The hearing scheduled for June 17, 2026, has been cancelled.
ALJ reports
Administrative Law Judge Joseph Mortensen was initially assigned. The rules had to be reassigned to Judge Christa Moseng. The Rules were submitted for legal review by Judge Moseng on June 18, 2026. Judge Moseng issued a report approving the rules on June 30, 2026.

The Board is reviewing next steps and plans to publish a Notice of Adoption in the coming weeks.
