Parking at DLI
Free public parking is available directly in front of the building at designated spaces, in the nearby visitor lot that is entered from DLI’s employee parking lot or from Grove Street and in an overflow Blue Lot on 13th Street E. (one block south of University Ave.) View parking map and directions.
Free exam parking is available in the visitor lot that is entered from DLI’s employee parking lot or Grove Street.
Visitors must sign in and register their vehicle, including license plate information, after entering the building.
Directions to DLI
From the west
Follow highway I-94 east to the 7th Street exit. Turn left on 7th Street and travel east three blocks to Lafayette Road N. Turn left on Lafayette Road N. and go two blocks to DLI (on the left).
From the east
Follow highway I-94 west to the Mounds Blvd. exit. Follow Mounds Blvd. to 7th Street. Turn left on 7th Street and travel west 1/4 mile to Lafayette Road N. Turn right on Lafayette Road N. and go two blocks to DLI (on the left).
From the north
Follow highway 35E south to the University Ave. exit. Turn left on University Ave. and travel east three blocks to Lafayette Road N. Turn right on Lafayette Road N. and go three blocks to DLI (on the right).
From the south
Follow highway 52 across the Lafayette bridge; exit and stay to the right for the Downtown exit, which will bring you to E. 7th Street; turn right onto E. 7th Street, travel two blocks and turn right at the stoplights at Lafayette Road N. DLI will be on your left after one block.
From the southwest
Follow I-494 east to I-35E N; merge onto I-35E N. After 4.1 miles, merge onto I-94E/US-12/US-52S, drive 0.2 miles. Take exit 242C toward 7th Street; turn left onto 7th Street E.; and turn left onto Lafayette Road N. at the stop lights. Travel two blocks beyond 7th Street on Lafayette Road N. to DLI (on the left).

Exit airport merging onto MN-5 E toward MN-55/St. Paul/Minneapolis. After 3.9 miles, merge onto I-35E N. After 4.1 miles, merge onto I-94E/US-12/US-52S, drive 0.2 miles. Take exit 242C toward 7th Street; turn left onto 7th Street E.; and turn left onto Lafayette Road N. at the stop lights. Travel two blocks beyond 7th Street on Lafayette Road N. to DLI (on the left).
