License reciprocity
Individuals who have a current license from the following states can operate historical boilers in Minnesota:

Ohio
-
North Dakota
-
Manitoba, Canada
Individuals who have a current Minnesota historical boiler operator's license can operate historical boilers in Ohio without further examination.
Steam schools
Individuals who attend and receive a certificate of completion from the University of Rollag Steam School, Wisconsin Historical Steam Engine Association Steam School, Heritage Park of North Iowa Steam School or the Dalton Steam School may use this training for up to 16 hours of operating experience toward the 50 hours required for the Minnesota historical boiler engineers license. Include a copy of your certificate of completion from the school when applying for the historical boiler engineers license.
