How do I become licensed as a boiler engineer in Minnesota?
You must pass a written exam for a boiler engineer license.
To take the exam, submit an affidavit of operating experience.
You can apply online to be approved to take the exam. The exam fee is $50.
When you are approved to take the exam you will receive instructions about how to schedule your exam.
Boiler exams are administered at all DLI exam locations, though only on specifically scheduled days.
The time limit for all boiler exams is 2.5 hours.
If you cannot appear for a scheduled exam, you can reschedule one time without having to reapply and pay a second exam fee.
Boiler licenses expire every two years at the end of the month in which the license was originally issued.
