Prevailing wages are the wages required to be paid on state-funded construction projects. Truck rental rates are certified once a year for highway construction projects.

Minnesota's prevailing-wage law (Minnesota Statutes 177.41 through 177.44) requires employees working on state-funded construction projects or other projects covered by law be paid wage-rates comparable to wages paid for similar work in the area where the project is located.

Minimum truck rental rates are a combination of costs for truck operation and prevailing wage for drivers for "four or more axle straight body trucks," "three axle units," "tractor only" and "tractor trailers."

Questions about minimum truck rental rates and truck rental rate certifications from prior years can be directed to DLI Labor Standards at 651-284-5091.
