Technical Advisory Groups

When reviewing existing rule chapters or new model codes, the council, at regular or special meetings, will:

  • appoint Technical Advisory Groups (TAG) and their members;

  • review TAG reports and meet with TAG members regarding their recommendations;

  • forward TAG reports and any council recommendations to affected stakeholders for review and feedback;

  • conduct informational meetings with stakeholders about code issues;

  • review and comment about department rule drafts; and

  • submit final recommendations to the commissioner prior to rules being published for public comment in the State Register.

All council meetings, including subcommittee and TAG meetings, are open to the public and conducted at DLI's offices located at 443 Lafayette Road North, St. Paul.

Meetings are typically conducted after relevant events or times of the year such as legislative session, rulemaking, code adoption or other activity requiring member input or review. Tentative meeting dates will be confirmed or canceled with CCAC members 30 days in advance.
